As the medium and symbol of mass culture in the industrial age, radio- recorders shocked Chinese culture. They did not just change the way musical products were manufactured, circulated and consumed, but also greatly improved methods of teaching foreign languages and even brought changes to Chinese people＇s lives and thoughts. To some extent, we can conclude that radio-recorders introduced Chinese to the mass culture and knowledge of the industrial age, along with the confidence to face the world at the early stage of China＇s reform and opening- up.
