摘要
自加入欧盟以来，英国的特立独行及边缘化倾向引发了国际上的讨论。欧盟现有27个成员国，英国是其中之一，但是，英国给其他欧盟成员国的印象却是欧盟一体化进程深入发展的“阻碍者”。芬兰欧洲事务部部长亚历克斯.斯图布曾表示：“英国对欧洲的政策已经越来越令人难以理解。我甚至有种感觉，英国正在慢慢地告别欧盟。欧盟成员国不像27个，更像26/1。”英国在欧盟中的表现将作用欧盟的发展进程，甚至对欧洲乃至世界的经济政治格局产生作用，因此英国与欧盟的联系已经越来越多的被世界关注。
本文首先阐明了英国边缘化的理论依据和现实表现，继而在前人探讨的基础上对文献进行综述、比较和略论，从地理，历史，心理，经济和政治等多方面阐述了造成英国在欧洲一体化背景下逐渐走向边缘化的原因，然后从经济、政治角度略论边缘化关于英国本国甚至整个欧洲的作用，根据略论结果对英国未来在欧洲的发展做出两种不同的预测：英国的边缘化倾向是否会加剧甚至导致英国退出欧盟，英语论文题目，或者，英语论文范文，英国逐步实现与欧盟其他国家的平等合作与融合。最后对英国未来在欧洲的身份和欧洲一体化的发展给出建议。

Abstract
Since joining the European Union, Britain’s marginal trend has raised great concern in other EU nations and the world. Britain is one of EU’s 27 member states; however, it seems more like an obstructer in the process of the union’s further development. The Finnish minister for European integration, Alex Stub once said that Britain’s policy on Europe has become increasingly hard to understand. And he even has a feeling that Britain is gradually parting from the EU. Seemingly, there are not 27 member states of the EU, but 26/1. As Britain’s special performance in EU is likely to have impact on the Union’s development process, and even influence European and international economic and political patterns, the relationship between Britain and EU has added appeal to countries all over the world.
This thesis first gives a brief introduction to the theoretical basis and actual performance of British people’s marginal role in Europe; then based on previous relevant studies it summarizes literatures, compare and make critical analysis to explain the reasons that caused the marginalization from geographical, historical, psychological, and political aspects. After, it provides an analysis on the influence of the marginal trend from economic and political perspectives. Based on the result of the analysis, the essay presents two possible prognoses on future development of Britain in EU: whether the marginalization would be strengthened and then result in UK’s parting from the Union or Britain would truly achieve equal cooperation and integration with other European Union countries. At last, it draws conclusion and gives suggestions on Britain’s future role in Europe and the developing process of EU integration.
