Chapter one Introduction  
 
1.1 The back ground of the study  
As one of the out-put language skills, writing plays an increasing important role in senior high school’s teaching and learning process. Ding  Wangdao  (1997) claimed  that  for  English  learners, writing  is  an  inseparable  part  in  the  process  of  English  learning  and  the  importance  of  English writing  is  self-evident. Wang Chuming (2017) said that by writing, the students’ English can be improved.  In  2017,  Ministry  of  Education  published  The New English curriculum standards, this official document reinforces the requirements about writing skills of high school students and divide the writing  skills  into  different  levels.  The  requirements for  the students who w ill  take  part  in  the national matriculat ion English test are as following: First of all,the students canwrite coherent  and fully structured short compositions. The students can narrate a thing or express their point of view properly.  Second,  the  students  can  write  a  brief  abstract  based  on  what  they  have  read  in  the textbook.  Thirdly,  the  students  can  use  common  genres/  text  types  to  complete  ordinary  writing tasks  and  have  nascent  ability  to write  in  a  literary  way.  Lastly,  the students can write  essays  an d reports  according  to  the  information  provided  by  words  and  diagrams.  To  sum  up,  all  of  these requirements listed aboveplace  great  demands  on  high  middle  school  students’ writing skills. On the contrary, there is no denying that even though the writing oc cupies a large part of scores in the college entrance examinat ion, it is by no means a victory to improve writing quality in a short period of time, so both the teachers and students feel worried and confused about it. In many ordinary high schools,  because  many  students  are  poor  in  English,  most  of  the  students  feel  that  it  is  rather difficulty  for  them  to  express  their  ideas  and  thoughts  by  using  proper  words  and  expressions  in English. In this case, the students have to link individual English words and  expressions together by using Chinese sentence structures to complete the writing tasks which were assigned by the teacher or when they have to finish the composition writing  in the fixed time.

1.2 Significance of the present study  
Currently, there are manywriting teaching models, such as cooperative writing, process writing and  task-based writing,  all  of  these  modes of instruction are aimed at raising the students’ writing interest and improving students’ writing quality, the ultimate goal of these writing models is to help the students get ,英语论文题目,英语论文  |
