摘要
本文以英国著名女作家简•奥斯汀所著的《傲慢与偏见》和孙致礼的中译本为实例进行英汉对比,英语毕业论文,以韩礼德和哈桑的衔接理论为依据,采取定性略论的措施,旨在研讨语篇翻译中衔接连贯手段在英汉翻译中的不同表现形式,解释产生不同的原因在于:英语成句多靠形合,而汉语成句则靠意合。
第一部分主要是介绍了本篇论文的探讨背景,语料的选择,探讨的意义和措施。第二部分则叙述了衔接与连贯理论产生的起源、定义、联系以及它们是如何应用到翻译中的。第三部分采用定性略论的措施,选取了《傲慢与偏见》中大量的语段以及其中译本的相应译文,比较两者在衔接与连贯手段上的差异。最后总结出英汉衔接手段的根本异同在于英语形合和汉语意合的特点,正确处理好衔接手段的转换有助于确保构建连贯的语篇。

Abstract
This paper makes a comparison between Pride and Prejudice written by famous British writer Jane Austen and its Chinese version translated by Sun Zhili. Based on Halliday&Hasan’s cohesion theory, this paper probes into different forms of cohesion and coherence devices in E-C translation by means of qualitative analysis, and explains the root cause of the difference: English is organized by hypotaxis while Chinese parataxis.
The first part of this paper mainly introduces the study background, selected corpus, meaning and method of study. The second part explains the origin, definition, relationship of cohesion and coherence theory and how the theory is applied into translation. In the third part, a number of corpuses in Pride and Prejudice and their translation are chosen for the comparison of similarities and differences in cohesion and coherence devices. At last, the paper draws the conclusion that the primary difference in cohesion between Chinese and English is Chinese hypotaxis and English parataxis. Dealing with cohesive devices properly helps us construct coherent texts.

1. Introduction
1.1 Background of Study
In recent years, text linguistics is developing in a rapid speed. It is applied to translation study. Consequently, we come into exploring and researching in the text level. Some of the translators believe that translation is dynamic communication proceeding in various languages, and discourse, as the basic form of communication, is also the basic unit of translation. Therefore, translators must translate in accord with discourse features of target language on the basis of understanding the original text correctly.
Discourse, as a kind of communication form, must contain seven criterions: cohesion, coherence, intentionality, acceptability, situationality, informativity and intertextuality. All of above must be up to standard, otherwise the discourse communication will be influenced. Among those criterions, cohesion and coherence are the most significant ones and two important means in forming a discourse.
