Abstract
As an important part of literature, children’s literature has a significant impact on the development of children’s view of the world, of life and of values. However, in the field of translation of children’s literature, both theoretical and practical study are not adequate and the existing research mainly starts from one single perspective ,either of reception theory or of skopos theory. No research has combined the two together. This paper, based on 3 different Chinese versions of Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland, with  the combination of cognitive theory and skopos theory, inquires into English-Chinese translation of children’s literature. Based on the findings of a questionnaire among primary school students, the paper endeavors to put forward some specific translation methods in child-oriented approach.

Introduction
It is well known that children’s literature plays an important role in the development of children’s view of the world and of life. For years, some translators have drawn conclusions from their practical translation experience in children’s literature. Nevertheless, they are tips exchange or experience sharing, rather than systematic study. Actually in China, children’s literature translation study is still an undeveloped field that has not yet been adequately conducted. Of the existing studies, most focus on child-orientation or skopos theory. Almost none has combined the two together. This paper, based on the findings of a questionnaire of 3 selected Chinese versions of Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland, with the combination of the two theories, endeavors to put forward some translation methods in English-Chinese translation of children’s literature. This paper consists of 3 chapters in addition to the introduction and conclusion.
