 The Comparison between Chinese and English Taboos and Its Reflection in Euphemism
 中西方语言的禁忌现象以及由此产生的委婉语
 
 摘 要
 
 众所周知,语言和文化的联系异常紧密,因此在跨文化交际中,任何忽视文化习俗和价值的行为不仅会造成交际障碍,使交际受阻,英语论文范文英语论文范文,而且会引起一定的误解、冒犯甚至敌意。语言是文化的组成部分也是文化的载体;语言的使用反映着文化的内涵。禁忌语作为一种特殊的语言现象普遍存在于每一种文化之中。不同语言、不同文化背景下的禁忌语存在着巨大异同。英汉禁忌语在一定程度上折射出中西方形态各异的社会文化背景,反映出不同的社会心理状态和语言文化内涵。
 本文通过对比探讨得出虽然禁忌语与委婉语这两种特殊的语言现象在中西两种文化里起源大致相同,某些方面也有共通之处,其具体原因和诸多方面还是相去甚远的。
 关键词:禁忌语;委婉语;跨文化交际
 
 Abstract
 As is known to all, language and culture intertwine with each other tightly. any ignorance of social customs and cultural values may not only cause communicative obstacles, but also likely bring about prejudice, offence, even hostility in cross-cultural communications. Language is a part of culture and also the carrier of culture. Taboo, as a special linguistic phenomenon, universally exists in every culture all over the world. There is no denying of the fact that taboo in different languages and cultures have great differences between one other. English and Chinese taboos manifest their different cultural backgrounds and social Psychology.
 In this paper, by comparing studies of taboos and euphemisms in both Chinese and Western culture, these two special phenomenons’s originated roughly the same, and there are certain aspects in common, but under the influence of stereotype, there are so many differences.
