Today, with the development of material civilization, international traffic has become frequent, which has led to the inundation of imported words in our lives. Particularly in TV, newss, magazines as well as commercial store signs, imported words are increasingly being used. This trend of increased imported words is found in both Korea and Japan. Such growth also evidences the fact that imported word education is becoming more and more important in Japanese language education. Nevertheless, it is true that teaching Japanese foreign-originated words was neglected in Korea's places of Japanese language education, and most of this has been left to the learners. Under the circumstances, perhaps it is natural that the Korean students learning Japanese are disgruntled about the difficulties and errors in using imported words.
To prevent such misuse, an effective and systematic study should be made on imported words of Japanese, but it is also true that imported word education methods have been scarcely researched and even neglected. Therefore, this studies the imported words that are likely to be misunderstood in Korea, with focus on imported words used in Japanese, to compare and analyze them in terms of distinction from Korean imported words in structure and definition. Comparison of Korean and Japanese imported words will be an important education in that it provides an opportunity for structure and content transition between the two countries. Such imported word comparison will have an effect of increasing vocabulary understanding of both languages within a short time. In particular, it would have significant meaning in examining the peculiarities and points for academic attention in Japanese and Korean imported words. This study will be helpful in improving the Japanese learner's understanding of imported word studies, in communicating the proper expressions for the original terms, and in enabling active learning of Japanese imported words.
