The purpose of this study was to investigate the importance of Kinship Terms during communication and to help foreigners who are learning Korean, to understand the use of Kinship Terms. Many existing studies are comparative studies that address terms between Korea and China. However, there is little study for the Kinship Terms. Therefore, this study is suggesting a new education program about the Kinship Terms between Korea and China after comparing the concepts between a relative and a kinship, the concepts  between the address terms of kinship and the reference terms of kinship, the concepts of the substitute kinship terms, the concepts of the degree of kinship and the forms of kinship terms, in order to understand the kinship vocabularies. In addition, this study has examined the subsystem of the address terms and the reference terms under the kinship vocabularies. And depending on the situation, this study consists of the substitute kinship terms forms. This study was founded upon the common points and differences of four kinship forms which include the relationship between an uncle and a nephew, a parent and a child, and a grandparent and a grandchild; widely used terms in both Korea and China. The commonalities in kinship terms found between a parent and a child are related to the speaker's age and the degree of intimacy between a parent and a child. However, in China, the differences in the kinship terms found between a parent and a child are also affected by another variable in addition to the two variables mentioned above, in regards of the kinship terms towards the father. That is, besides the speaker's age and the degree of intimacy between a parent and a child, it is also affected by whether or not it is formal. Furthermore, there are differences in the reference terms regarding a married child and an unmarried child between the two countries. In Korea, while reference terms changes with the marriage of a child, the reference terms do not change in China regardless of marriage. The similarities in the kinship terms found between brothers and sisters are defined by the non-referrer's gender, the non-referrer's age, and the speaker's age, in both Korea and China. On the other hand, the differences in the kinship terms found between brothers and sisters are differentiated by the speaker's age in Korea, whereas that is not the case for China. However, the same usages of the kinship terms apply between grandparents and grandchildren. A slight difference regarding this relationship is that the formality of the situation affects the Chinese use of kinship terms, whereas it stays consistent in Korean.  The kinship terms found between uncles and nephews are congruous between Korea and China in regards that they are not related to the marital status and age of the mother. However, while the differences in kinship terms found between uncles and nephews are related to marital status of the father's brothers in Korea, this is not the case in China.  Finally, while there is a word describing the degree of kinship(Chon) representing kin relationship in Korea, there is not a word for the degree of kinship(Chon) representing kin relationship in China.  In addition, this study clarified and analyzed the kinship terms in the textbooks widely used throughout four universities in Korea. Based on these results, most kinship terms are vocabularies related to the family. The teaching activities are namely dealt with the reading, writing, speaking, and listening linked activities introducing their family. When examining the substitute kinship terms and the usage forms about non-kinship terms in the textbooks, it mainly consisted of vocabulary regarding an uncle or an aunt. When examining both Sogang Korean as the teaching material of Sogang University and Seoul University Korean as the teaching material of Seoul National University, comparing to the other teaching materials, these teaching materials used the substitute kinship terms more than some other teaching materials. These teaching methods were trying to find an education model using the SIOP model.
