This research was written to create a proper educational plan by selecting a form of ‘onomatopoeia, mimetic words, and predicate’ based on onomatopoeia and mimetic word aspect of the translated comic books, fairy tales, and the soap operas.
The Japanese learners are not properly educated with onomatopoeia and mimetic words since the most of the textbooks does not either describe it or simply list out words without suitable explanations. Therefore, this research was prepared by reviewing the forms of onomatopoeia and mimetic words used in translated comic books, fairy tales, and the soap operas and developed the educational plan. I have selected 306 onomatopoeias and mimetic words and create a list from those translated comic books, fairy tales, and the soap operas. A predominant trait I discovered was the expansion of vocabulary list that I did not find in typical textbooks. I also presented a new translation to provide the better understanding of the context by listing ‘onomatopoeia, mimetic words, and predicate’ that are shown in translated version of comic books, fairy tales, and soap operas.
I categorized in different types of onomatopoeia, mimetic words, and predicates. The 1st type is consisting of 46 lists, the 2nd type is 43, the 3rd type is 27, and the last type is 189. This described in details of co-occurrence of vocabulary since it is important for learners to understand the relationship between the onomatopoeia/mimetic words and vocabulary and also how this can be utilized in the context.
As a next step, the new educational plan was presented by listing the actual examples that are shown in comic books, fairy tales, and the soap operas. The educational model was applied to Japanese learners based on merits of the PPP model. It was constructed to easily understand the forms of ‘onomatopoeia, mimetic words, and predicate’ within the context of translated materials for Japanese learners.
