This study was verified validity and reliability. adapting Values in Action Inventory of Character Strengths(VIA) developed by Kim et al(2013) to Korean language to VIA for adolescents.
Questionnaires of Character Strengths were sent to 1131 students of middle and high school, university located in Busan, Ulsan and Jeonju for the development of K-AVIS, those of 1121 people(boy:299, girl:822) except for 190 questionnaires with insincere response or no response of them were analyzed. As measurement tools, the correlation analysis on VIA and the awareness questionnaire of Character Strengths, self-esteem scale, hopelessness scale was conducted to look at convergence and discriminant validity. After that, self-efficacy scale, desired scale and multiple regression analysis were carried out to see K-AVIS's predictive validity.
The findings of this study can be summarized as follows:
First, confirmatory factor analysis was performed to investigate K-AVIS's constructive validity. Through this, K-AVIS was extracted to 5 factors such as Pursuit of Excellence, Synergetic Transcendence, Wisdom as Openmindedness, Integrity and Courageousness, as a result of examining the correlation between sub-factors, each factor showed .060~.529 respectively.
Second, the correlation analysis between sub-factors was conducted in order to examine K-AVIS's convergence and discriminant validity. As a result of analyzing it, it suggested the correlation between the convergence and discriminant validity scales with sub-factors of K-AVIS scale. The awareness questionnaire of Character strengths was distinctive converging each factor to some extent, showing a significant correlation with K-AVIS scale at .40 to .56. In the correlation with self-esteem scale, low correlation was shown by integrity r=.32, courageousness r=.34, and we could see it was a discriminant Character Strength, being converging with other Character Strengths at .40 to .47 to some extent. With respect to hopelessness scale, as a result of analyzing the correlation with this scale, it was low by -.21 to -.39, but showed a significantly negative correlation. Though K-AVIS was converged with hopelessness to some extent, the hopelessness with each sub-factor appeared in the concept of discrimination.
Third, K-AVIS's internal consistency was .90 so its reliability was high. Looking at each sub-factor's internal consistency, it was .63~.81 so it displayed the similar appearance with the internal consistency the researcher showed except for Pursuit of Excellence among sub-scales.
Fourth, the relative level of contribution of six kinds of sub-factors of this scale contributing to predicting self-efficacy and hope were investigated to look at predictive validity of K-AVIS's compliance-related validities. As a result, in the level of contribution to hope prediction among sub-factors of Character Strengths, it predicted relatively significantly Character Strengths for self-efficacy and hope except for integrity.
Fifth, as a result of calculating internal consistency(Cronbach’ α) to examine reliability, it appeared Pursuit of Excellence α= .63, Synergetic Transcendence α= .81, Wisdom as Openmindedness α= .80, Integrity α= .72, Courageousness α= .78, the total score of K-AVIS α= .90.
Therefore, this research was investigated K-AVIS scale's validity and reliability targeting adolescents.

본 연구는 청소년을 대상으로 성격강점을 측정하기 위하여 Kim 등(2013)이 개발한 성격강점 척도를 한국어로 번안하여 타당도와 신뢰도를 검증하였다.
한국판 청소년용 성격강점 척도(K-AVIS) 개발을 위해 부산, 울산, 전주에 위치한 중학교, 고등학교, 대학생들 1311명을 대상으로 성격강점 질문지를 실시하였고, 수집된 자료 중 불성실한 응답이나 무응답 자료 190부를 제외한 1121명(남학생 299명, 여학생 822명)의 자료만을 분석 대상으로 조사하였다. 측정도구는 수렴 및 변별 타당도를 살펴보기 위해 성격강점 척도와 성격강점 인식 질문지, 자존감 척도, 무망감 척도의 상관분석을 실시했다. 그 후, 한국판 청소년용 성격강점척도의 예측타당도를 보기 위해 자기효능감 척도, 희망 척도와 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다.
본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 한국판 청소년용 성격강점 척도(K-AVIS)의 구성 타당도를 알아보기 위해 확인적 요인분석을 실시하였다. 이를 통해 K-AVIS는 우수성 추구, 초월, 열린마음으로 지혜, 진실성과 용기로 5개 요인으로 추출하였고, 하위 요인 간 상관을 살펴본 결과 각 요인들 간에 .060~ .529로 나타났다.
둘째, 한국판 청소년용 성격강점 척도(K-AVIS)의 수렴 및 변별타당도를 알아보기 위해 하위요인 간의 상관분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과 한국판 청소년용 성격강점 척도의 하위 요인들과 수렴 및 변별 타당도 척도들 간의 상관을 제시하였다. 성격강점 인식 질문지는 한국판 청소년용 성격강점 척도와 .40에서 .56으로 유의한 상관을 보여 각 요인들과 어느 정도 수렴되면서도 변별되는 것으로 나타났다. 자존감 척도와의 상관관계에서 진실성 r=.32, 용기 r=.34로 낮은 상관을 보여주었고 그 외 성격강점과 .40에서 .47로 어느 정도 수렴이 되면서도 변별되는 성격강점임을 볼 수 있다. 무망감 척도는 본 척도와의 상관을 분석한 결과, -.21에서 -.39로 낮지만, 유의한 부적 상관을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 청소년의 성격강점이 무망감과 어느 정도 수렴되는 부분이 있지만 각 하위요인과 무망감은 변별되는 개념으로 나타났다.
셋째, 한국판 청소년용 성격강점 척도(K-AVIS)의 내적합치도는 .90으로 신뢰도가 높게 나타났다. 각 하위요인들의 내적합치도를 살펴보면 .63~.81로 나타나 하위척도 중 우수성 추구를 제외하고 원 저자가 보인 내적합치도와 유사한 모습을 보였다.
넷째, 한국판 청소년용 성격강점 척도(K-AVIS)의 준거-관련 타당도 가운데 예측 타당도를 살펴보기 위해 자기효능감과 희망을 예측하는데 기여하는 본 척도의 여섯 가지 하위요인의 상대적 기여도를 살펴보았다. 그 결과, 성격강점의 하위요인들 중 희망 예측 기여도에서 진실성을 제외하고 자기효능감과 희망에 성격강점을 상대적으로 유의미하게 예측하는 것으로 나타났다.
다섯째, 한국판 청소년용 성격강점 척도(K-AVIS)의 신뢰도를 알아보기 위해 내적합치도 Cronbach’ α를 산출한 결과, 우수성 추구 α= .63, 초월 α= .81, 열린마음으로 지혜 α= .80, 진실성 α= .72, 용기 α= .78, K-AVIS의 총점 α= .90으로 나타났다.
이와 같이 본 연구는 청소년을 대상으로 한국판 청소년용 성격강점 척도(K-AVIS)의 타당성과 신뢰성을 규명하였다.
