Sometimes, connective suffix for time relation in Korea is presented in response to Guan Lian Ci Yu (語) in Chinese and it is also arranged by word order without any respondence with the adverbial clauses. Therefore, for Chinese students learning Korean, because of this interference of their mother tongue, they often make mistakes when using these clauses as they cannot identify connective suffix for time relation.
In this research, it considers the following four, {-go}, {-jamaja}, {-(eu)myunseo}, {-a/eoseo}, as the research objects to have comparative analysis with connective suffix for time relation in Chinese. As the basic research to decrease error made by Chinese students when learning connective suffix for time relation and search for effective ways for them to learn the language this focuses on comparative analysis between markedness of connective suffix of time relation in Korean and Chinese. Through this, it will help Chinese learners to have better understanding on time relation connective suffix in Korean and also, provide effective educational method on connective suffix of time relation for Korean teachers.
In the first Chapter, it identifies research purpose and proposes research method and details by going through previous studies.
In Chapter 2, it has summarized definition and category of connective suffix in Korean and adverbial clauses in Chinese. Moreover, it also defines concpet of language markedness and discusses language learning based on this.
In Chapter 3, it presents system of connective suffix of time relation in Korean and analyzes markedness of it.
In Chapter 4, it presents system of adverbial clauses of time relation in Chinese and analyzes markedness of it.
In Chapter 5, by having comparative analysis between markedness system of connective suffix of time relation in Korean and adverbial clauses in Chinese it tries to look into reasons for error that could take place when learning Korean.
In Chapter 6, based on the result it proposes solutions for educational use.
In this research it has looked into the comparison between time relation connective suffix in Korean and adverbial clauses in Chinese and based on the conclusion it proposes educational application. Hope this research becomes big help to Chinese students learning connective suffix of time relation in Korean.
