The purpose of this study is to provide a educational measures for international students to develop their presentation skills in academic. Presenting themselves in public is one of important abilities frequently needed for students. Oral presentation in academic area is a critical tool for academic success. That’s why presentation in academic area is more difficult for international students. So special attentions or cares are needed to develop. But previous studies are mainly focused on only detailed factors of presentation.
This study provides systematic approach to improve presentation skills for international students. First, the concepts and characteristics of presentation are reviewed. Then, based on this, Students’ presentations performed in actual classes are analyzed, and problems are pointed out. Also, some factors affecting successful presentations are analyzed through audience rating. In order to establish criteria and degree of importance in educational measures for improving presentation skills, audience’s evaluation and self-evaluation by international students are compared.
First result of the students’ presentations analysed is that contents and organization of presentation materials were inadequate. Also students made many grammatical errors. contents and organization of presentation materials are turned to be crucial for audience rating. However, compared to audience rating, grammatical errors on presentation is not a big problem to audience. Instead pronunciation, intonation, gesture, and gaze are more influential.
Based on the results, this study provides educational measures based on the CLL(Community Language Learning) of teaching method. To develop international students’s ability of presentation, they need a lots of opportunity to build up their presentation experience. The CLL has some principle for that, one is research learning principle another is self-reflection principle. Consequently, this study use those principles and provide educational measures.

본 논문은 한국어 학습자, 특히 한국 대학에서 수학하고 있는 외국인 유학생을 위한 발표 교육의 필요성을 느끼고, 그들의 발표 능력의 향상을 위한 발표 교육 방안을 제시하는 것에 목적을 둔다.
학문적 상황에서의 발표는 학술적인 의사소통을 수행하는 중요한 도구로 학습자들에게 자주 요구되는 과제이다. 이러한 발표 과제는 한국인 모어 화자에게도 부담되고 어려운 과제이며 한국어 학습자들에게는 더욱 큰 부담이 된다. 한국어 학습자들을 위한 다양한 발표 교육 방안과 그 내용이 고안되어야 할 것이다. 그러나 기존 연구에서는 세부적인 요인만을 연구대상으로 삼고 한정적인 교육 방안을 제시하고 있다.
이에 본 연구는 외국인 유학생들의 발표 능력 향상을 위한 체계적인 발표 교육 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 교육 방안을 수립하기 위해 실제 외국인 학습자들이 수행한 발표 자료를 분석하여 발표 구성적, 수행적 측면에서 그 특성을 살펴보았다. 그리고 성공적인 발표에 영향을 주는 요소들을 청중평가를 통해 분석하였다. 또한 발표 교육 내용의 항목 설정과 중요도를 수립하기 위하여 청중의 발표 평가 결과와 유학생들의 자기 평가 및 요구 조사 결과를 비교하였다.
먼저 외국인 학습자들의 발표 자료를 분석한 결과 발표 구성의 미흡함과 문법적인 측면의 오류가 많이 나타났다. 발표 내용의 구성 및 자료 요약은 청중 평가에서도 중요한 평가 요소로 작용하였다. 하지만 발표 수행에서 나타나는 문법적인 요소의 오류는 청중 평가 분석 결과와 비교했을 때 큰 영향을 주지 않았으며, 오히려 발음과 억양, 제스처 및 시선이 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 요소는 청중 평가의 상위 점수를 받은 학생들과 하위 점수를 받은 학생들과의 차이에서 더 뚜렷하게 드러났다. 이러한 결과는 언어적 요소에만 치중하고 있는 발표 교육에 큰 시사점을 주며 발표 자료를 준비하고 수행하는 전반적인 관점에서 교육이 이루어져야 함을 말해준다.
본 연구에서는 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 학습자들의 발표 능력을 효과적으로 향상시켜줄 수 있는 발표 교육 방안으로 공동체 언어 학습의 원리를 적용한 교육 방안을 제시하였다. 학습자가 발표 능력을 기르기 위해서는 직·간접적으로 발표를 체험하고 스스로 그 특징을 터득할 수 있어야 하기 때문이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 탐구 학습의 원리와 반성적 평가의 원리를 이용하여 수업의 모형을 수립하고 그 교육 방안을 제시하였다.
