The purpose of this study is to identify the methods to educate Korean culture more effectively by comparing the TV advertisements of Korea and China. Based on the differences found by our analysis, this reveals the cultural difference between the two countries and suggests the culture education scheme with Korean culture for Chinese.
In the first chapter, previous researches for Korean cultural education which are used by advertisements are reviewed. The purpose, necessary and method of this study for Korean teaching method are presented.
In the second chapter, we tried to analyze the selected Korean cultural teaching contents, and analyzed six Korean culture textbooks which are published only from 2006 to 2009. we also made question areas to Chinese students about teaching contents by advertisements and analyzed the results.
In the third chapter, first, standard choice and collecting method of TV advertisements are reviewed. Second, analyzing the results, in the aspect of material civilization including the clothing, food and shelter, the unique aspect of Korean culture was reflected and in the view of mental culture and values. The cultural difference between two countries was revealed. The scheme for culture education by TV advertisements based on this comparison results was suggested.
In the fourth chapter, we observes carefully the importance of cultural education according to research analysis that were viewed above, and look through cultural contents as well as the purpose and fields of cultural education. For example, in curriculum of the Korean language and methods related to cultural instructions to educate learners about the cultural contents.
In the last chapter, we summarized all of the cases, presented the meaning of this study and found out the problem for future investment.
For more effective Korean cultural education, interests in the Korean cultural education and active improvements of real materials for cultural education are necessary. Futhermore, teachers are required to research in various teaching ways and to produce various texts and materials.
