영국의 권위 있는 시사주간지 이코노미스트(The Economist)가 2008년 보도했던 한국 관련 기사들 중에서 굵직한 현안 위주로 번역을 하였다.
이코노미스트 특유의 문체를 최대한 어색하지 않게 한국어로 옮기려 노력하였으며 그들이 보는 한국에 대한 시각도 연구하였다.
아울러 이코노미스트를 보다 효율적이고 정확하게 독해하는 방법도 모색했다.

The Economist is an English-language weekly news and international affairs publication owned by The Economist News Ltd. and edited in London. It targets educated readers and boasts an audience containing many influential executives and policy-makers.
Among the news ed by the Economist in 2008, I selected Korea-related articles, which I thought were important issues this year, and translated them into Korean. While translating, I tried not to alter the unique tone and voice of the Economist.
Additionally, I analyzed the viewpoint of the Economist on Korean issues and compared it with that of the Korean news media.
Finally, I sought a more efficient and precise way of reading and understanding the Economist, which is quite difficult for non-English speaking readers like Koreans.
