Abstract:

In Chinese classical literary works to spread don't process, accurate and excellent translation plays a decisive role. Because the regional and cultural reasons, "a dream of Red Mansions" and many other works spread depends on the translation stop (with the third party talk rather than source talk). But because of flounder of the translation process and the translator "s about the third party to speak and speak of civilization is not familiar with, in the translated works will occur some mistranslation. Wang Xilian on the "dream of Red Mansions" in 1932 by the German sinologist Kuhn on the German version, referred to as Kuhn. This German translation as the original, American Mchugh sisters will be translated to English, referred to as the Mchugh version. But because McHugh sister about German control has less dark practice, and knowledge of "a dream of Red Mansions" in the plot and the response of the Chinese civilization with King understood, McHugh versions emerged some mistranslation and inaccurate translation, did not complete the works of "a dream of Red Mansions" the essence of transfer to western readers, is a kind of regret. In this paper, the author discusses the fundamental situation of "a dream of Red Mansions" translation, translation concept and equivalent actual growth. This paper takes Wang Xilian as the basic evaluation, by Werner Koller (Khloe) proposed the practical translation five principles as a framework, in Kuhn's version and Mchugh's version of a comparative browsing, data collection, analysis and comparison. In this paper pointed out McHugh versions of some achievements, contain mistakes and defective; and Werner Koller (Kohler) the actual equivalence basis, McHugh versions in the emergence of problems from the connotation of peer to peer, peer, aesthetic equivalence three aspects research; medium meaning equivalence and from the lexical and syntactical stopped with the analysis of the debate; and the response of the modified method. Through the analysis of comments debate, M&M (1958) and there is a lack of important three aspects.
